Laurinda has been working in the Library and Information Management sector for the last 20 years, working in New Zealand and the UK. She has led teams across the Public, Tertiary and Special Library sectors, as well as in Information Management, Archives and IT.
Laurinda has been involved with the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA) since 2003, and was President of the Association in the 2013-14 year. She has appeared on television several times, speaking on Library issues in New Zealand. Laurinda attended Aurora as a participant in 2010. She was a mentor in 2014, 2015 and 2019 and joined the Aurora Board in 2015.
