Dr Edward Luca is Course Director and Senior Lecturer in Information Studies at Charles Sturt University, and an established leader in the library and information sector.
As Course Director, Edward provides leadership and academic management of the Bachelor and Master of Information Studies programs at Charles Sturt. Before transitioning to academia, Edward held senior roles in academic libraries, most recently as Associate Director, Academic Services at the University of Sydney Library. In this role, he led liaison librarian teams delivering education and research support, and oversaw the development of innovative, user-centred service models to enhance digital and information literacy across the institution.
Edward is an active researcher in the areas of scholarly publishing, metrification and academic work, and academic librarianship. He is an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Australian Library and Information Association (JALIA), and co-chair of the Association’s Research Advisory Committee.
