Scott Lumsden officially accepted the role of Executive Officer in January 2020. Scott is an Auroran (2017) and was a Director of the Board from 2014 until January 2020. Scott currently works as a mental health support worker whilst completing a Master of Social Work.
Scott worked at Queensland University of Technology as Manager HR & Finance for the Division of Technology Information & Library Support (TILS) from 2009 until 2019. In that time he has served on many committees and major projects including: 2011-2014 CAUL Finance Advisory Committee; 2013 conducted a review of Queensland University Libraries Office of Cooperation (QULOC) financial reporting and record keeping; 2015 Represented QUT in an analysis of ‘IT and telecommunications’ spend undertaken by CAUDIT on behalf of AUSFOG for the University Procurement Hub; 2013-2014 Member of the QUT Procure to Pay and Accounting and Financial Reporting Expert working groups for the Financial Systems Upgrade project; 2015-2019 member of the QUT Finance Managers Advisors Group (FMAG); 2015-2019 Finance advisory to the Australasian Open Access Strategy Group (AOASG); 2012-2019 member of the QUT TILS Divisional Leadership planning group.
Scott worked at James Cook University (JCU) from 2002 until 2008 in various roles including Senior Internal Audit Officer; Executive Officer for the Mt Isa Centre for Rural and Remote Health; Finance Manager DVC’s Office Information Services and Technologies; Manager Student Systems and Manager Enrolments and Fees.
